A Message To Our Users
As a user of the NCDOT MPE website hosted by the State Climate Office of North Carolina (NCSCO), we are excited to let you know that our redesigned NCDOT MPE website is now live! Ring in 2025 by exploring the improved features with a new user-friendly design at
https://mpe.climate.ncsu.edu.
What changes with the NCDOT MPE website?
While many features will look the same, there are several behind-the-scene improvements, such as MPE data generation and retrieval. We’ve also redesigned all pages to be mobile-friendly and refreshed the MPE map with new features such as basemaps and faster tile generation. We also added a point-and-click functionality to get MPE values at locations of interest. Finally, we are working on additional modifications to improve functionality, and we will notify users of these updates as they become available.
What changes with my account?
As part of this change, our CRONOS user accounts will be retired and replaced with our new NCSCO ID account system. This will provide a stronger, more secure account access that works with our other new products such as Cardinal and the CLOUDS API. Instead of a username, your email address will be used for logging in.
If you are using the same email address for CRONOS and NCSCO ID:
All of your existing alerts, sites, and projects will transfer over seamlessly from your CRONOS account to your NCSCO ID account.
If you are using a new email address for NCSCO ID and/or you no longer have access to the email address used for your CRONOS account:
Please contact us at help@climate.ncsu.edu for further assistance with:
- Your CRONOS ID
- Your CRONOS email address,
- Your NCSCO ID email address
What happens to the old site?
The previous site, available at
https://legacy.climate.ncsu.edu/dot/. will be retired on
Wednesday, February 19, 2025. After that date, that link will redirect you to the new site.
What if I still have questions or tool feedback?
Contact us at help@climate.ncsu.edu for more questions, or if you have suggestions that would make your life easier if added to the tool.
